Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbright is an attractive and bustling little fishing town, for a long time famed as the favourite resort of artists and craftspeople.

The town has an estuarine harbour - the home of a fleet of scallop boats, a historic old High Street with art & craft outlets, colourfully painted traditional Scottish townhouses, and a selection of mainly family-owned shops where most things can be got.

Castle Douglas
Castle Douglas, nestled in between the Galloway hills and forests to the north and the sweeping beaches of the Solway to the south, has been nominated as the Food Town of the Dumfries and Galloway region.

Over 50 locally owned businesses provide a unique shopping experience offering a fantastic selection of locally produced cheeses, pates, pies, confectionery, ice cream, chocolates, bread, shortbread, biscuits, fudge and specialist whiskies.

Dalbeattie
The town of Dalbeattie was founded in 1793 as a mill town, a port and a granite quarrying centre. It has still got its Craignair Hill quarry, but now makes most of its income from tourism and service industries. Visitors to Dumfries and Galloway (south west Scotland) are invited to try our town for themselves. It looks beautiful in any kind of weather and we offer a warm welcome.

Gatehouse of Fleet
A warm welcome awaits you in Gatehouse of Fleet in the middle of a National Scenic Area on the edge of the magnificent Galloway Forest Park in the rural heart of Dumfries and Galloway.
