Lochside Theatre
Lochside Theatre is a producing / receiving venue in the former St Andrew’s church which was converted in 1996 by members of three local drama / musical groups. The two hundred seat auditorium is has a regular programme of music, drama, dance, and cinema. Check out what's on at their website.


Creetown Gem Rock Museum, Creetown
A fascinating collection of gemstones, crystals, rocks and fossils from around the world, many of which are rare items. With an amazing crystal cave, exhibitions, café and gift shop.

Galloway Hydros Visitor Centre, Tongland, near Kirkcudbright
The art deco influenced power station is an impressive example of 1930’s architecture, and a visit includes a guided tour, a trip to the Tongland Dam, Reservoir and Fish Ladder. Adjacent is the Tongland bridge, designed by the famous engineer Thomas Telford.

Mull of Galloway Visitor Centre, Mull of Galloway
With the area surrounding the centre designated as an RSPB Reserve, and the site holding special scientific interest for its geological formations and wildlife, this is a must see for conservationists and animal lovers. Birds, rare plants and wildlife are housed in the centre.

Shambellie House Museum of Costume, near New Abbey
This Victorian country house offers the chance to see a wonderful collection of period costumes, all of which are set in various room tableaus.
