|Caring For The Environment|
BRIGHOUSE BAY IS ONE OF the most environmentally sustainable Holiday Centres in the United Kingdom. We've won a sheaf of awards for our commitment to looking after the environment, maximising energy efficiency and encouraging bio-diversity. In 2006, Brighouse Bay Holiday Park was awarded the Gold status under the Green Tourism Business Scheme, the Scottish Award for Environmental Excellence on Golf Courses with its Pan European `Golf Environment Europe' certification ... and we picked up the David Bellamy Gold Award for the tenth year running. The Park has also been recognised as VIBES Regional Winners 2006 in the South of Scotland Medium category with the judges stating that they were "very impressed with our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment".
If all that wasn't enough, Brighouse Bay Golf Club won the British and International Golf GreenkeepersAssociation Golf Environment Award within Scotland for the third year in succession - and was selected as the National Winner of the BIGGA Golf Environment Competition 2006 for the environmental management of golf courses.
We operate a reed bed water purification system, recycle water and have installed solar panels on some of our Self-catering Lodges. Solar panels also heat the Swimming Pool and the hot water in the two toilet blocks.
Our eco-friendly approach benefits everyone; keeping costs down, preserving the beauty and fragility of our natural environment and promoting good practice to staff, visitors and suppliers.
