PROPOSED ADDITIONAL CARAVAN UNITS ON THREE SEPARATE SITES WITHIN THE EXISTING CARAVAN PARK COMPRISING 128 CARAVANS, 36 TWIN CARAVANS AND 20 STAFF CARAVANS
New planning legislation is gradually being put into place by the Scottish Government. In August 2009 a new hierarchical system was adopted which divides planning applications into three types:- National, Major and Local. The processing of each type of development is different.
The proposed new development at Brighouse Bay falls into the category of a ‘major application’ as defined in the legislation, because the total area for the additional units exceeds 2 hectares. The community must therefore be given an opportunity to comment before the proposals are finalised and the planning application submitted.
Please note that there will be a further opportunity to make comments on the proposals during the normal consultation period following submission of the planning application.
The exhibition provides details of the proposal but in brief, there will be 3 phases of development:- Area 1 (western site) – 36 Lodges (twin units) and 30 Holiday Homes (single units); Area 2 (northern site )– 98 Holiday Homes Area 3 (eastern site) – 20 Staff Caravans
